Apple has updated “Boot Camp”, software for running Windows on Mac.
In addition to Wi-Fi supporting WPA3, Bluetooth operation has been improved.
Improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Apple has released Boot Camp 6.1.16.
No new features have been added in this version, and the following points have been improved.
- Wi-Fi supports WPA3
- Improved Bluetooth behavior when resuming from sleep or hibernation
Boot Camp only works on Macs with Intel chips
Even with this update, Boot Camp does not support Apple silicon such as the M1/M2 chips, and is still only available for Macs with Intel chips.
To use Windows apps on a Mac with Apple silicon, you need to use virtualization software such as Parallels Desktop for Mac or emulation software such as CrossOver Mac.
