Android

A Google executive tweeted that the next version of Android will enable satellite communication.

Will Android 14 support satellite communication?

Hiroshi Lockheimer, senior vice president of Google, tweeted about the development of the first Android smartphone “G1” announced in 2008. “Currently, we are developing for satellites,” he said.

“We are excited to support our partners to enable satellite communication in the next version of Android,” he said.

Since the latest version of Android “Android 13” was just released the other day, it is highly likely that satellite communication will be realized in the next version “Android 14”.

Is iPhone 14 also compatible with satellite communication?

Apple has announced that it will hold a new product launch event on September 7th, local time, and it is rumored that “the design of the invitation may imply that the iPhone 14 will support satellite communication.”

Also, the other day, SpaceX and T-Mobile announced that they would partner to provide satellite communication services, which is attracting a lot of attention.

In response to Mr. Lockheimer’s tweet, satellite communication may attract more and more attention in the smartphone industry in the future.
