Tesla’s – Semi Truck
Diesel trucking is a massive business, and an essential one as well. They transport goods all across the country: luxury items as well as food and fuel. The industry is a 700 billion dollar business in the United States alone. A standard Diesel truck can travel up to 50 thousand miles a year, and get about 10 miles to the gallon. The semi truck has lower revs in a higher gear making it more fuel efficient for its size. This means that the Semi has less moving parts than a regular gas powered vehicle. A normal diesel fueled semi truck has a lifespan of approximately 10 years. Depending on how well it was taken care of during its life of course. And even though this type of vehicle is more efficient in transport than a gas fueled vehicle, it isn’t quite as environmentally aware as newer improved vehicles. Elon Musk wanted to do something about that.
