Previously, due to the repeated impact of the epidemic in Shenzhen, Quanta, located in Bao’an District, Shenzhen, as the only EMS supplier of MacBook (responsible for R&D, production, procurement, logistics, etc.), has decided to temporarily suspend production. Dagong (Shanghai) Computer Co., Ltd., which is 100% controlled by Quanta, announced that in order to cooperate with the local epidemic prevention work in Shanghai, it has also temporarily suspended work, and the recovery time is still uncertain. Quanta was previously the exclusive MacBook notebook factory for Apple, which will unveil the new MacBook at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Quanta’s production base was shut down, which could disrupt Apple’s new product launch plans.

Recently, analysts at JPMorgan Chase, a well-known US investment bank, said that Apple’s Mac supply chain has returned to normal, and the delivery time has been shortened to a week or less.

It is estimated that after placing an order, Apple customers have to wait on average about five days for a new Mac brain, compared with an average of about 15 days in June. North American consumers are waiting longer, reducing the time to buy a new Mac to 8 days from 18 days in June. Apple’s latest third-quarter 2022 results show that Mac sales in the second quarter fell short of market expectations, down 10% year over year.
